My Inner Girlie Girl

Cliff says the cover has a tutu on it...only a guy right?
I admit it....I am a girlie girl....maybe not the "fluff and ruffles" type of girlie girl but I love pretty things....elegant things....if I were to discribe my scrapping style I would say it was more elegant and pretty than fun and cutsie....now part of this is due to the fact that I have older children....it's difficult to scrap teenage and 20something boys with lots of cutsie pattern paper. But over all I have more of a grown up scrap style. (for lack of a better term) So when I found out that Teresa Collins was coming to Scrapbook Dasies in Long Beach to teach a class I thought awesome...I love her grown up, elegant style of scrapbooking....I will sign up to take her class....then I found out the class would be with her beautiful new "Posh" line...and I thought what am I going to do with a pink and black....totally girlie girl project? I could have dug around and found lots of photos of my sister and me....or maybe done some of me with my girlfriends but I decided....NO I would make it work...who says you can't scrap boys with pink and black...now mind you my boys were slightly less than thrilled when I brought my projet home but I tried to include Holly and Me enough so that there was some female presence in most of the photos...I don't have to please everyone right? I had a great time and I learned some new techniques so it's all good right? So here is my totally girlie book with my awesome and amazing family in it.

This is a terrific way to add additional photos to your project

Playing Catch-up

My Rose Parade Rose

Wow.....we are already into February 2011....where did January go? I can't believe that I didn't post about this earlier. Every year I say I am going to go to the Rose Parade...but we never do....so this year I decided I was going no matter what.....the trouble was I was really tired New Years Eve and the thought of getting up at the crack of dawn to go to the parade was just too much so we did the next best thing....we went up and looked at the floats on display....TRULY AMAZING!!! I have tons of photos that I will have to share at some point. The end of January brought some changes to our house. Jason passed his drives test AND got a new job. So now I am occasionally stuck without a car while he is at school. It's so quiet around here today....I am so not use to this. Mind you I am enjoying it but it sure is different. =)

I have been working on a scrapbook for hire so I don't have a lot of my own layouts to post. Tho I have managed to sneek in a few here and there. I also missed going to CHA this year as I didn't ask for the time off from work soon enough....and while I have the time and could have "called out" for work I just didn't feel like that was the right thing to do so I stalked peoples blogs who were there and watched videos and such and lived vicariously thru those who were there instead. Next year it will be in Anaheim so it will be more
convenient anyway.

I had a nice "conversation" with Jeremy yesterday via text....for some reason I have been really missing him the last few days....probably cuz I ran out of my hormones...lol He and Holly are doing great in AZ. Holly is working hard to finish up her last semester at ASU and Jeremy is working. We will be going out for her graduation so that is certainly something to look forward to.

Jason and I have been working on moving more and eating less.....trying to get some weight off of both of us....so far he has lost about 14 pounds and I have lost 7....it's hard but worth it. We have also been watching  the Biggest Loser....these people are doing an amazing job...the show is certainly motivational...granted it's drama...it's a reality show and of couse they are going for the ratings but what these people are accomplishing is amazing.....we sit here and cheer them on every week....silly perhaps but if it keeps us motivated then I'm all for it.

I am really excited to take Teresa Collins class at Scrapbook Daisies in Long Beach on Feb. 19th. I love all things Teresa Collins lately. She has such beautiful and fun product.....maybe it's because she is just such a nice person...don't know but anyway I am going to make a beautiful book that maybe way too pink and girlie for my boys but I am hoping I will be able to make it work. =)

Guess I will close with a few layouts I have done lately....Enjoy everyone.

My December Daily

This is my third year of making a mini album to document the Christmas season at our house. I really enjoy it. Before Jeremy and Holly's wedding I had been thinking about what kind of a book I wanted to use. So after the wedding while my sister, Linda, was here, we went scrappy shopping and found this awesome minibook kit by Teresa Collins. Linda stayed for a few days after the wedding and we had the chance to put it together. All I had to do was wait for December and start taking pictures.
I carried my camera around with me a lot...if all else failed I used my cell phone. Some photos were Christmas related some were just things that were happening in December at our house. So here is a look at my book....I think it's the cutest one yet!
December always starts out slow...love the photos of Jase driving

The month started off with a great weekend off and a dinner out with friends. I got to see Teresa Collins teach a class too. She is just the sweetest!

Sorry for the glare on the glossy photos...I ordered glossy by mistake

This page is all about the huge lesson I learned....don't scrapbook for hire in December!!

I was lucky enough to be off of work and could attend the ward Christmas Party.

We had a fun weekend at my cousins house.

My Scrappy Year in Review

I absolutely adore this photo of Jason from Jeremy's wedding.
This sweet photo of Jase I have hanging on my wall in my studio
This is from our Valentine's lunch.
I did this last year and thought it was kind of fun. So I am going to do it again. Here are my top 10 favorite layouts from 2010 in no particular order. Ok....so it' not Top 10.... it's now it's Top 12....I couldn't keep it to just 10 favorites! =)

It's funny I selected the layouts for different reasons. Some were because I loved the photos, some were because I loved the story, some were cuz I loved the design....what is even more interesting is that I just went back and looked at my old blog and I said almost the same thing a year ago...so no matter why I chose the layouts here are my fav's from 2010.

If you want to see my Top Ten layouts from 2009 you can see them here...just scroll down a bit.
