Scrap Friendzy
I've been on pins and needles this week waiting to hear about the Scrap Friendzy Design Team call and as you can see from my new pretty blinkie on the side bar I am now one of the proud Design Team Members! Woohoo! I've been hanging out over there for a while so when the design team call came up my wonderful scrappy sister Linda encouraged me to apply I figured "why not"! I am looking forward to being on the team and sharing my work. So if any of you (who happen to read my blog) are looking for a scrappy place to hang out....come on over to http://www.scrap-friendzy.com/ and play along with us. It's a great bunch of girls and the challenges are always a lot of fun.

Shimelle's Online Crop
I was reading over some of the challenges that Shimelle posted over on her blog at http://www.shimelle.com/ and decided I would try a couple of them just for fun. I have done online crops before but usually they were hosted stateside....Shimelle lives in England so I found the time difference...well different. But scrappers are scrappers no matter where they live so I thought why not play along. The challenge that I chose to do was the "Starting Point" Challenge you can find it here:
http://www.shimelle.com/paper/1159/scrapbooking-starting-point-challenge-with-basicgrey/
It was such a great starting point for my layout below. This wedding photo of Holly has been calling my name for a while now and I just wasn't sure what I wanted to do with it so I decided to use that for this challenge. I also picked out my absolute all time favorite Pink Paislee paper (Queen Bee) to use with it. I wanted to use "Joy" in the title because that is what the photo brought to my mind when I saw it. I found a quote to use for journaling and "Tada" it was done. Thank you Shimelle for this great challenge...with any luck I will be able to do at least one more of the challenges in the week to come.

Some Great Suggestions
I came across a blog post over at Big Picture Scrapbooking by Wendy Smedley Titled "Permission to Stop Your World" I totally LOVED it and it's concept....so today....remember to take some time for YOU!

I borrowed this off the blog site from BPS...I totally agree with this concept...just wish my room looked a bit like this one. =D |

It's Starting all Over Again
Back before Jeremy left on his mission he and I often use to lay awake and gab late into the night. ...just the two of us it was quiet and we could talk about whatever we felt like. Even though it was often difficult to stay awake...it was always worth it. When he left on his mission I missed those late night conversations.
Now Jason is preparing to go and serve....right now he is working a job that gets him home late at night...he doesn't want to go to bed right away so he and I have started our own late night conversations. Last night on top of him not getting home from work until late (almost midnight) he had a headache earlier in the evening and took some Excedrine Migraine so he came home and as he says he was "Loopy" from the Excedrine....Loopy really means he was no only tired but wound up from work and the Excedrine....he had me in stitches last night....I honestly don't remember what was so funny but we had a great time and were up until almost 1AM....well I was anyway....he was awake much longer unfortunately. So even though I was tired today....it was all so worth it to have some special one on one time with my AMAZING Young Man. I know in the not-so-distant future he will be gone and I will be missing once again those quiet late night conversations.

I need to post my last day from the Week in the Life. Sunday was very kick back....we went to church and basically hung out at home. I loved the laughter that came from the kitchen while the kids were playing games. It truly was music to my ears! Here are the last few photos from Sunday.

A Week in the LIfe - Friday
To start this post out right I have to first tell you about the mysterious knock at the door that we received Thursday night. I alluded it it a couple of posts ago but to understand the whole Friday post you have to hear about Thursday night.
I got home from work around 9:45...shortly there after my neighbor Jane came over and we put together her Mary Kay order so she could turn it in on Friday morning. After she left I decided I had better get ready for bed cuz we were leaving at 7AM on Friday to go to Disneyland. So I am putzing around and there's a knock at the door again. It's late....even for my neighbor to be coming over but I go to answer it....turn on the porch light and see Jeremy and Holly on the front porch! I opened the door and SCREAMED!!! So that was the reason Gary wanted us to go to Disneyland on Friday....Jeremy and Holly wanted to go with us!! I was TOTALLY SURPRISED! Cliff hasn't pulled off this good of a surprise since my 40th birthday party which was a LONG time ago!
Friday morning I woke up to Cliff fixing breakfast...I walked out into the kitchen and he had this
sitting on the counter...I grabbed my camera to take a picture and Cliff thought I was totally nuts...it truly wasn't about the fruit or the fruit dishes....it was about the fact that there were FIVE fruit dishes on the counter...which meant my family was ALL home together!!!
Anyway....we left for Disneyland and had a wonderful day! I was SO grateful to Kevin Year for trading shifts at work with me so I didn't have to go to work until 5:30 so I could spend more time with my family at Disneyland! Here are just a few photos from Disneyland. I have decided one of my favorite things to do at Disneyland (since I am NOT a big ride person) is taking pictures. I love to find different ways to capture the park. The biggest thing I have learned is if you aren't taking pictures of your family and you just want pictures of Disney....look up....that way you don't get lots of random people in your photos that you don't want. Well that's it for today gang...I will be back tomorrow with Saturdays photos.
