Another Mother's Day Layout

Shimelle Laine posted a tutorial over at Shimelle.com and I decided to follow along and see what I could come up with. I just finished it last night and am so happy with the results. I used more Every Day Moments by Teresa Collins (I simply love the colors in this line!) I haven't used brads in ages and she had us using brads with bakers twine....what a clever idea. I love bakers twine. I used some more photos from Mother's Day and voila....my layout was done in very little time. Have a great week everyone!

Everyday Moments

I don't always scrap photos of just myself. I am like most Moms that have a tendency to always be behind the camera. Now that my kids are grown I am learning to hand the camera over to them. I often times love the results. Of course some times they get some really "interesting" shots that I wish they hadn't but isn't that what the delete key is for? lol This one Jason took of me on Mother's Day. I think he did a great job. I found a sketch over at Let's Capture These Sketches and paired it up with the beautiful Teresa Collins Everyday Moments line. I can really relate to capturing the everyday. I don't always think to do it but those are the photos I love the most. Those are the ones that tell the stories that I want to tell. If only I had the stories to go with all the photos I have of my Mother's and Grandmother's. Hopefully I am leaving the stories that my children will want to read about someday. Thanks Jason for capturing an everyday moment with your Mom on Mother's Day.

Mother's Day

My Mother's Day Flowers from Jason
It's been a lovely day. I started out with breakfast in bed after I slept in ....along with a very cute card and photo from Jeremy and Holly. Ok...it was printed at Costco but it was a "wordle" he used Mother's Day as the base and then put in all kinds of sweet tender words on it...some made no sense to anyone else but me but it brought tears to my eyes. Then we went to church during Relief Society (the women's meeting) we were treated to a lunch served by some of the men in our ward. It was so nice and very tasty. After we got home I put the leg of lamb in the oven as Cliff wasn't sure how to cook it and I was really hungry for lamb. We got to skype with Jeremy and Holly and I got a little scrappy time and even a short nap before dinner...man was it good! My Gramma would have been proud of me...I even made her mint relish. After dinner I opened my cute cards from the rest of the family. Yes there was even one from Riley...lol I also got a gift certificate for a spa pedicure which I will no doubt enjoy! So there you have it...my Mother's Day...I am so grateful for my sweet husband and my amazing children...they are simply the BEST!
He hates having his picture taken but he managed
to give me this one. =)

The cute Wordle that Jeremy made me

Leg of Lamb...done to perfection!

I am so grateful to be a Mom

Costco Huntington Beach Grand Opening

Sign on the side of the building
It's been a crazy few weeks. I can't say enough wonderful things about the new Costco in Huntington Beach. I came home and told Cliff that the warehouse was "beautiful" he looked at me like I had rocks in my head. It was hard not to think it was beautiful. Nothing was messed up...every item was perfectly stacked..the floors were polished, the ceiling was so white and bright. everything was so pristine. So yes...beautiful does describe the new Huntington Beach Costco. Of course you have to take into consideration that I came from working in a 25 year old warehouse...so new is wonderful.

We have merchandise geared for our beach community

Our Grand Opening was this past week. Tuesday night we had a VIP night which basically was a party for all the exec's and to show off our new warehouse to the community. We attempted to count not Costco cards but actual bodies as they entered the front door....What a trick that was! There were actually two of us with "clickers" counting people as they entered...my thumb was clicking fast and furiously. Not sure how accurate we were but we did the best we could. Wednesday we opened for business. It was busy....like a Saturday in Fountain Valley. For a new warehouse I think we had a pretty successful opening. I love our managers. They are so willing to help us. They have no problem getting in the trenches and working along side us. I think that does a lot for morale.

Another perk to working in HB is the fact that I am now third in line with seniorty so I am working days. It's so nice to be home with Cliff in the evenings. We can actually do stuff together! What I am having trouble with is the fact that for the last 5.5 years I have been working basically all evenings and so have been use to having my mornings to myself....so it will take a bit of adjusting but all in all its a good thing.
We had a table full of high end Channel and Prada
handbags that sold like crazy the first day we
were opened!
Our front end manager Rommel along with two of
my front door co-workers Carrie and Judith

Here I am in the oh-so-lovely red vest (NOT) along with
Carrie, Shirley and Peter.

Our entrance door is on the corner of the building
so they made the cake that way. =)

I told ya....bright and white! Of course the registers
are now uncovered...lol

Look at those perfectly stacked colorful tee shirts!
